Practicing the BRICS mission and contributing to international cooperation

In 2020, President Xi Jinping announced at the 12th BRICS Leaders' Meeting the establishment of a BRICS New Industrial Revolution Partnership Innovation Base in Xiamen, Fujian Province, to carry out cooperation in the areas of policy coordination, talent cultivation, and project development, etc. In 2021, the BRICS Innovation Park for the Future was set up in the third phase of the Software Park in Jimei District.

In 2023, President Xi Jinping announced at the 15th BRICS Leaders' Meeting at the Sugito Convention Center in Johannesburg that China would set up the China-BRICS New Era Science and Innovation Incubator, focusing on in-depth cooperation in the fields of digital economy, green development and supply chain. In December of the same year, the “China-BRICS New Era Science and Innovation Incubator” was officially inaugurated in Phase III of Jimei Software Park. In order to serve the construction and development of these two important BRICS platforms, Jimei District International Cooperation Center was established.

As a link between China and other BRICS countries and global partners, Jimei International Cooperation Center focuses on the important strategy of Xiamen to build a node city of the new development pattern, takes enterprises as the main body, internationalization cooperation as the guidance, market-oriented operation as the mechanism, and provides a full range of services and all-around platforms for the docking of global and especially BRICS countries' innovation resources to help Chinese enterprises to integrate into the world, and to promote the linking of international resources to China.
